Advisory Board Member
William (“Bill”) F. Caye II [pronounced Ki] is the founder and president of William F. Caye II, LLC a statewide criminal and juvenile trial advocacy and defense litigation firm and he also works as a special senior advisor/consultant to organizations and nonprofits as well as small businesses to troubleshoot alternative business, regulatory and employment disputes.
Bill has been an Executive Board Member since 2012. Bill was a native of Brookline attending Our Lady of Loreto and Seton-LaSalle in Brookline. He was raised near Moore Park and has family in the neighborhood. Bill is an advisory board member at BTO and enjoys being a part of strategic planning and fundraising.
Bill’s professional career spans over 26 years of being in service to others and he has performed as a judicial law clerk, state and county prosecutor, court-appointed conflict attorney and frequent juvenile advocate and he has appeared as an arbiter in challenging small claims court cases and administrative forums. Bill frequently teaches and lectures throughout the Commonwealth to various audiences on trending legal topics and has personally trained and mentored other criminal justice professionals in his capacity as a Master barrister with the Inn of Court (Dean Ed Sell Chapter) and as a former Senior Pennsylvania Deputy Attorney General. As a past SDAG, Bill investigated, prosecuted, and convicted over 110 child sexual offenders including numerous sexual violent predators in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Bill has routinely appeared and tried criminal prosecution cases from preliminary hearings to jury verdicts in multiple counties; moreover, he recently was a merit finalist for the interim judicial vacancy nomination process in Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas vetted by and through Governor Tom Wolf and his appointment panel. Bill previously worked as a civil plaintiff’s trial attorney fighting for the rights of injured and disabled workers and he gained early recognition in the legal community as a rising star prosecutor in the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office under Hon. Bob Colville, Sr. Bill initially clerked for the Chief US District Court Judge and interned at the PA Supreme Court.
Bill is a current active Board of Governors member for the alumni association at Duquesne University School of Law and he is the current President of the Serra Club Diocese of Pittsburgh. He received his JD from the law school in 1993 and his BA from the Duquesne University School of Liberal Arts in 1990, graduating Magna cum Laude with high honors. Bill played collegiate Baseball at the Division 1 level for the Dukes in the Atlantic 10 Conference. His late father, Billy Caye, Sr., is a PA Sports HOF Inductee of the Western Chapter and was a former Board Member. Bill is married to Tammy Lyn Gaydos Caye and they have 2 boys, Billy, and Adam, in high school in their home community of South Fayette Township, in Allegheny County.
